Trick or Treating with Luke

You know?!? The Hairedly Lion!

Emma and her school boyfriend, Jack!

Jack's Dad built this play house. It was so Pottery Barn.

I am so grateful for so many things this year, mostly Emma's health. She dressed up as Dorathy this year. Tinsley was none other than the Tin Man. We were discussing the cast when Emma said, "Mommy, I wish we had a hairedly lion". I asked her to repeat it, because I wasn't sure if I heard her correctly. She said "hairedly lion, you know, because he has so much hair!" Well, that settles it.

Only Pregnant Pets Will Do

Last night, Emma and I were pillow-talking, and I decided to ask her the following question:

If you could have any three pets, what would they be?

Emma responded quickly:

A pregnant cat, a pregnant dog, and a pregnant pig.

Think she's getting the most bang for her buck~ Haha!

For Emma

My Dear Sister
If Christ is Your Savior
You are the dwelling place
Of His own Spirit
You have it IN YOU
to be secure.
Every day of your life
You have a choice to make
You can live in your old defeat
Or you can turn from your unbelief
And choose life
Make up your mind
To put off the old you
And put on the new you.
Never, ever, ever forget
That the Lord is your security.
He will keep your foot
From being caught in a trap.
He will take care of you
To your very last breath.
Now, leave this place
And go out into the world
And act like a person
Who knows she’s dearly loved.
You were born to be exceptional.
So, Girlfriend, go forth
And walk worthy of your calling.
You are clothed in strength and dignity!
Now unto Him
Who can keep you from falling
Be glory and majesty
Power and authority
Through Jesus Christ our Lord
Now and forever more
Amen.

Have I Met Ben Harper Before Mommy?

Tonight Emma and I went to the Earth Day Birthday Concert at the Verizon Ampitheater near our house. Headlining was my fave: Ben Harper. Surprisingly, the venue was nowhere near full, so we got a little front row action. It was awesome!

Princess Tea Party

Emma's BFF, Hunter, invited us to a Princess Tea Party this morning. The girls have been looking forward to this for weeks~ I took Emma to the Disney Store last night and she picked out this multi-tasking number: a princess gown that doubles as jammies. Yay Emma~

The girls drank pink tea (or crystal light if you wanna be specific), decorated princess cookies, and made tiaras.

They had such a great time. Thanks Hunter!

China LOVES their panda be-yahs.

This morning, we heard on the radio that China had an earthquake last night. With the recent earthquakes in Haiti and Chile, Emma knows the destruction that earthquakes are capable of producing. So...as soon as the news came out, Emma (from the backseat) says, Mom, I'll bet some pandah be-yahs got killed. You know China, they LOVE those pandah be-yahs.

I could seriously eat her with a spoon!

The Friendly Bee

Yesterday, Emma says:

Mommy, this little bumblebee keeps following me everywhere...to school, to church, at home....he must really want to be my friend.

Ha! She thinks it's the same bumblebee, just wantin' to hang out~

Jesus Loves Me

Emma takes choir on Wednesday evenings. Her class sang Jesus Loves Me for the entire fellowship hall this past Wednesday. It happened to be St. Patty's Day. Here they are in all their green glory:

Family Night #5: Bunny Night

We started off the evening going to a local pet shop that featured a petting zoo.
Emma instantly fell in love with this fuzzy yellow chick. Notice her hands in the following photos...

The 45 lb bunny. Probably doesn't do too much hoppin'.

The cutest lamb ever...

Emma wanted to bring that chick home with us.
We came home and did some Bunny crafts, door-sign, dot-to-dots, coloring pages....

Then, we ate Bunny Dinner. What do bunnies have for dinner, you may be asking yourself....
These bunnies ate salad and carrot soup. Bunny cupcakes for dessert.

The most exciting event by far was the flashlight Easter egg hunt. The event starts at sunset and the children bring flashlights. They only allow a set number of participants and they hid the eggs (as opposed to scattering them over a baseball field). Emma was delighted.

At the end of the night, a newspaper photographer asked if he could take Emma's picture. When he walked away, Emma said, Mommy, was that a paparazzi? I told her that he sure was. She smiled and said, Wow, I can't believe a paparazzi just took my picture. Wonder if there are any more?
HA!

Emma's 4 Year Stats

Emma had a 4 year old well check today. See stats below:

Weight: 40.4 lbs - 85 percentile
Height: 40 inches - 57 percentile

Vision Perfect
Hearing Perfect

She also had to receive 4 shots (Tetanus, MMR, Polio, and Chicken Pox Vaccines). The nurse demonstrated how to give Emma a "special hug" during the shots, aka death hold, so as I was gripping Emma, who was screaming, I asked the nurse "How many?" indicating that I wanted to know how many shots she had already given. Miss Emma thought that I was asking her to count the shots aloud, so she agonizingly yelled 'One, Two, Three, Four' as they were going in. Poor sweet angel baby. I hate shots too!

Emma's Fourth Birthday

Emma and her cousins - Nathan and Kayla

Emma's 4th birthday party was at her gym where she takes gymnastics. We almost didn't have the party because it snowed a ton on Friday. But thankfully, most of the roads were clear and we went ahead with the party as scheduled. Everyone made it except for one.

This is Emma and her boyfriend Luke. They are so stinking cute!

This was called the 'Moon Bounce'......

But it was more like a human slingshot.

Make a wish baby girl~

I picked Emma up from school today and she proudly announced:

Mommy, we watched the CUTEST little hedgehog on Miss Tracy's computer. He was so furry and cute!
